My name is Charlotte Gordon Lennox, and I am the Loquacious Duchess of Richmond. My friends call me TL;DR. I'm not sure why.
I have a keen interest in recording fandom history, and I hope that you will find my observations of some interest.
[Note: Many years later, I returned to this account and found that most of the links were dead. Unfortunately, I let the website where I was hosting all my downloads (www.charlottelennox.net) expire years ago, and Journalfen has also gone down, taking both of the other versions of this story (on Bad Penny and my Journalfen account) and Fandom Wank down with it.
I have restored as many links as I could by linking to archived versions of Journalfen and by uploading screen caps as photos on this LJ to replace the missing downloads. Some links are lost forever, however.
I have also updated the Timeline to include some later developments, including screen caps of Msscribe's various explanations and apologies, which were not included before.]

ari_o has emailed angua9 and given her a link to a website showing the name and phone number of the police officer that she says Msscribe told her was the person who investigated her case with "Fermatojam." angua9 says she has already called that number and left a message, but it was after hours and she got no information. She plans to call the Records Department tomorrow morning to ask if the case exists, and immediately post the results on her LJ. And yes, I do realize that this sounds like it could be a setup for the Big Reveal that Msscribe is innocent after all, but I assure you I do not expect that to be the case!
I thought very seriously about delaying the release of Chapter Ten until that phone call has been made, but I decided not to. The events of Chapter Ten occurred, no matter what the outcome of that phone call. And NM deserves to have her story told, after waiting patiently for two months.

Oh dear. I'm afraid I'm very disappointed in our mouse detective. First, he stood me up by ignoring my invitation to give me hints in one of my screened journals to help me confirm his information. But perhaps that's understandable in view of what happened next. Deprived of "Clarabella's" alleged real name and any hints as to how I might find online "incident reports," I was forced to investigate the information s/he had already given us. And I am sorry to be obliged to tell you that the Mouse Detective is shockingly untruthful.

June 20, 2006: Angua9 and Oulangi make telephone calls and discover that the police station Msscribe claimed to Ari_o handled her case had no such case on record.
Afterword 2
June 21, 2006: A friend of "Charlottelennox" forwards an email of someone who queried the University of Dayton about Louis Movello and was told they had never had a student of that name, nor any close spellings.
June 21-22, 2006: Ishie (a resident of Dayton) questions the Dayton police, the university police, and others at the University of Dayton and confirms that they have no record of a student or a complaint incident resembling that described by Msscribe.
June 22, 2006: Cassandra Claire emails Angua9 a screencap of Fermatojam's comment on her LJ, showing his IP as the same Comcast IP captured elsewhere for Msscribe, Pottersginny, Fermatojam, Clarabella, and Karma_Bitch.
June 22, 2006: Someone representing himself as Msscribe's husband files a complaint at Journalfen, alleging that Charlotte's quoting of the "Baby Dyke" story and use of an icon with a picture of Msscribe violates her copyright. At Journalfen's request, Charlotte edits those items.

angua9 posts the email that she sent Heidi in March-April 2004. In a comment, praetorianguard, attorney for Fiction Alley, partially explains Heidi's and her own response.June 23, 2006:
clarabella21 comments on this post in angua9's Live Journal, saying An update will be posted in my journal, seemingly from a kiosk in the Dallas/Ft. Worth airport. A couple of hours later, "Clarabella" makes a voice mail post on her own LJ, backdated to a month before. Transcription by tophets_tool:
It’s me. I know that I haven’t been around in years and I never thought I’d come back to this journal. I’ve already apologised, I have nothing else to say, except that I wan’t to be left alone. I don’t appreciate people contacting me, and I will be deleting this journal in twenty four hours.
June 23, 2006: Msscribe changes her LJ name
dejaspirit and her title to "Solitude." June 24, 2006: Clarabella's journal is deleted.

heidi8 posts a public apology.July 7, 2006 or so: The
dejaspirit LJ is changed from a permanent account to a basic account. It seems that LJ probabably allowed Msscribe to apply her permanent account to her new LJ, dizzledee.July 15, 2006: Charlotte receives an email apparently from babygrrl/
infinitus, stating that she is a real person; that she doesn't know if Msscribe has done as alleged in the account, but that Msscribe has been a good friend to her; that she has spoken to "Clarabella" on the telephone a couple of times while Msscribe was said to be in the hospital; and that she had left the fandom for personal reasons and did not wish to be contacted or have her identity revealed. August 4-6, 2006: White_serpent posts her account of "The Cassandra Claire Plagiarism Debacle" on the
bad_penny community. This does not directly involve Msscribe, but touches on others involved in her story, most notably Cassandra Claire, Heidi, and Ebony/AngieJ.August 15, 2006: Msscribe posts a long explanation on her dejaspirit Livejournal. angua9 and tartanboxers with a mixture of apology, thanks, and blaming Clarabella (including blaming her for faking the original Fermatojam). They do not respond. Msscribe gives angua9 Clarabella's "real name" but I have not been able to find such a person. Afterword Three posted
